OPTICAL DISPENSER - Eyecare Kids, Hillsdale, Sydney NSW

Annual salary package: 55k - 65k (including super)

Join a successful and independent optometry practice filled with friendly and enthusiastic professionals in a position of Optical Dispenser.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Discuss the client's eyewear needs
  • Choose the appropriate frame to satisfy the client's comfort, appearance and prescription requirements
  • Discuss and recommend types of lenses and lens enhancements
  • Ensure lenses conform to the prescription of the ophthalmologist (eye specialist) or optometrist
  • Shape lenses and fit them to frames, ensuring they meet quality standards
  • Ensure the new eyewear fits correctly and comfortably
  • Carry out minor repairs to damaged frames.

Successful applicant would be expected to have the following attributes:

  1. A minimum of 1 year full time experience in the position advertised.
  2. A friendly and approachable personality willing to help the clients in a professional manner.
  3. Prior experience of working in a pediatric set up. The applicant must posses a working with children check clearance.
  4. Have the ability to up sell & close sales of frames, sunglasses and other optical products to patients.
  5. Be willing to attend training courses when required.
